When it comes to cycling clothing, our focus is to make sure that we create cycle wear that can keep up with you, no matter where your ride ends up taking you. One of the ways we do that is with our purpose developed fabric technologies and the technology we use all throughout our cycling range is our AEP Kinematics tech.

This blog is going to talk through what AEP Kinematics is, how it can benefit you on your bike rides and some of our favourite product recommendations.

What is AEP Kinematics?

AEP is actually an abbreviation and it stands for Advanced Ergonomic Performance.

When the word ergonomic is used within clothes and fashion terms, it means that when those clothes have been created, the designers have incorporated ergonomic practices into the design. This means the pieces have a key focus on making sure that the pieces in question are functional. It means that we have taken into account the wearers movements, and the actual design and construction of the garment focuses on supporting those movements.

This means our cycling products that have been created with our AEP technology come with a 360 degree stretch fit. We have also added in advanced levels of joint articulation which combined with the stretch fit helps to enhance your power and agility on the bike.

We have learnt about these key articulation points from various studies we have carried out in the past, we were able to analyse the main points of motion during athletic performance. We then used this analysis to ensure we were able to add extra articulation into the areas that needed it. This means there's more room for movement and you're not being restricted in any way.

To ensure you're getting the very most from your cycling clothing, we combine our AEP Kinematic fabric technology with some of our other fabric technologies including Q-Wic (which helps to wick the sweat an moisture away from the skin to keep you cool and comfortable) and Biomotion Reflective which keeps you visible in low light conditions.

You can shop our cycling clothing via the buttons below. If you would like more information on all of our different fabric technologies, you can find that on our technology landing page.
